Ian Williamson trained as a Child and Adolescent Analyst in the 1980’s at the Society of Analytical Psychology after a career working with disturbed and troubled children in a number of settings. He worked in the NHS at several Child and Family Consultation centres before going into private practice full time 15 years ago.

Currently he works full time with children, adolescents and families and also with adults on a non-intensive basis. He also is a part time lecturer in Post Jungian Child Analysis at Essex University and has taught in the UK and abroad. He is co-author of a book on sport and psychoanalysis called ‘Winning at all costs. Sporting gods and their demons’ and is the author of the forthcoming book  ‘We need to talk, a straight talking guide to raising teenagers’. 

He is a Member of the Association of Child Psychotherapists and a member of the
British Psychoanalytic Council.

Ian is co-director of the Queen Anne St Practice and also the Young Peoples Consultation and Therapy Centre.
